The Parish Church of St Basil the Great, Bassaleg. I've not been in this church but the setting is quite dramatic. According to Wikipedia the most likely origin for the word 'Bassaleg' is as a corruption of the Latin word 'basilica'. But the identity of the saint to which it might refer is a mystery. |
